Investors Changing Direction

Investors have changed direction when it comes to purchasing European government bonds. Last summer, bonds in many European nations were shunned by investors who were weary of their ability to repay. For example, in June 2013, yields on Spanish and Italian 10 yr. debt rose to above 5.0%. Since then, as investors continue their search for yield and some of the earlier fears were calmed, yields in Spain and Italy have rallied to record lows, now below 3.0%.
